THE WIND IS MY FRIEND...
I hurl over the fields with mighty leaps. The air caresses my face as the grass below my feet is stained with the blood of my enemies. They come at me in droves. By the tens and twenties. All of them barbaric with tooth filled maws, with evil intent in their eyes. But they are no match for me.
They fall as easily to my blade, like leaves I cut them with ease...
For I am Victar, the last hope of my land. Out there, somewhere, are the other pieces of my sword...the Demon Sword. And with it I will end the tyranny of the Dark Fiend who oppresses my people!

This game gets a PASS!
Right from the get go this game is basically The Legend of Kage 2. Now hold on, if you didn't enjoy that game this one is an IMPROVED version. That's right. The jumping mechanics you couldn't get used to in Legend of Kage are fixed here.
If you ever wanted to play Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon on your NES, well, this is it humanoids! I really love the sense of high and control of your jumps here. Great game, while the music is a bit weak, and the graphics are just OK, the gameplay and controls make up for it. It's a nice addition to your collection.
Don't pass this one up!

A Flare for the Old
"WOOO!"
The great 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair would shout that at his opponent back in the day. Head games I suppose. It's something I really want to shout at resellers.
See I got this problem. I love old video games. Atari 2600 (give it to me any day), NES (my bread and butter), Colecovision (I cut my baby teeth on it), SNES (what could be better), you get the point. Resellers think they can get away with charging ridiculous prices for these games on those great old machines.
It's not right. Super Mario Bros. 1 to 3 should be NO MORE than five bucks and under. They're a common title! But no, since those games are in demand (because everyone wants them and NOT Silent Service) the price is driven up. Textbook supply and demand. I understand this. That doesn't mean I have to LIKE it. ^>^
Same goes with rare games. There's no logical reason Mighty Final Fight should cost 80+ bucks. No way in hell. Same goes with Little Samson or Stadium Events. 800 to 1000 plus? And that's just the LOOSE price. Ugh. Idiotic. It really, really is.
What if people really want to play these games? Screw the collectors! And yes, I'm a gamer first, collector second. I will not spend over 50 on a loose cart. No way no how. And you know something, neither should you. If you want to play those hard to get, rare games (like the porno ones, or Battletoads & Double Dragon) just emulate them.
GASP! I know! I said the dreaded 'E' word didn't I? Well fuck it! Emulate those bastards until the octorok's come home. You might as well since your chances of playing those rares are about as good as me taking candy from a baby. And let me tell you, that ain't happening humanoids!
One day the bubble will burst and the demand for NES games will be gone. Then those resellers who've hoarded away those Little Samsons, Zombie Nation's, Power Blade 2's, will feel the burn. Muahahaha!

As far as I can remember I've always wanted a huge library of NES games. I believe most kids that grew up in the mid to very early 90's wanted that. Now that I near the 200 mark in my NES collection alone I think it's time to look back and see just what I'm missing. It would also be important to list my goals, and general wants on the Nintendo Entertainment System. A wish list per say. Here we go!
GOALS:

As far as I can remember I've always wanted a huge library of NES games. I believe most kids that grew up in the mid to very early 90's wanted that. Now that I near the 200 mark in my NES collection alone I think it's time to look back and see just what I'm missing. It would also be important to list my goals, and general wants on the Nintendo Entertainment System. A wish list per say. Here we go!
GOALS:
- Own issues 1-30 of Nintendo Power (as a kid I always wanted the issues containing NP's coverage of the Gray toaster
- Pick up more Nintendo memorabilia (in particular Super Mario Bros. and Zelda 80's merchandise)
- Collect and maybe even finish a set of those Nintendo cards that came out in the 80's

WANTS:
- Adventure Island 3 (to complete the series)
- Robocop 2 and 3 (even though I HATE the 3rd instalment, I'm a big Robocop fan)
- Stinger
- Fantasy Zone (another uncommon title by Tengen. In my opinion its one of the must own shmups on the system)
- Rampart
- Freedom Force
- Mega Man 5 (Doesn't everyone want this game?)
- Gradius 2 (yes it was only released in Japan on the Famicom. But I still want it!)
- Maniac Mansion (I'm still kicking myself for trading this wonderful game away. Gaah!)
- To own at least ONE boxed Double Dragon game
- Mighty Final Fight
- TMNT Tournament Fighters
- Kid Icarus (wanted this game since I was a kid.)

There's plenty of others that I can't think of right now. But the stuff I listed above looks pretty attainable. I just need to go out and find them! I remember seeing Kid Icarus, Mighty Final Fight and even Gradius 2 at a retro store. Why I never picked them up I'll never know.
Right now I'm extremely happy with my NES collection. Even though I'm around the 200 loose cart area, I'll say 90% are good to great games. The others....well you can just imaging...
